Ben Briand

About Ben Briand

Ben draws out genuine emotion and makes the unreal feel real.

With a background in fine arts he brings a unique eye to advertising – resulting in cinematic, stylish and meaningful storytelling.

He has directing projects featuring Gal Gadot, Rose Byrne, Jackie Weaver and Cate Blanchett to name a few. Ben is equally comfortable eliciting authentic performances from non-actors as seen in Apple’s landmark First Dance campaign celebrating same sex marriage equality. The project was nominated for Best TV/Cinema Campaign at Cannes Lions and Won Best TV Campaign at B&T Awards.

Ben’s other commercial projects have won Silver Cannes Lions, Shots YDA, Gold at New York Festivals, Gold at EPICA and the Grand Prix at Cristal Festival Europe. Client collaborations include Audi, Qantas, Asahi Beer, Schweppes, Blue Cross Blue Shield, MTV, Mitsubishi, Monster Children, Vogue China and Playboy Fragrances for Coty.

His narrative short films have screened at SXSW, BFI London Film Festival, Palm Springs, Raindance, Won Best New Filmmaker at the Melbourne International Film Festival, half a dozen Staff Picks and was voted Best Narrative Film at the inaugural Vimeo Awards.
